《高譚騎士》真人版美劇由《蝙蝠女俠》三人組查德菲韋許（Chad Fiveash）、詹姆斯史托特羅（James Stoteraux）以及娜塔莉亞伯拉罕（Natalie Abrams）共同撰寫劇本。 故事背景設定在「蝙蝠俠」布魯斯韋恩遭謀殺後，他叛逆的養子與「蝙蝠俠」敵人的後代在被誣陷殺害「蝙蝠俠」後，成了一個看似不可能集結的同盟。如今，身為這座城市的頭號通緝犯，這群邊緣人必須極力為自己證明清白。 但在失去了「蝙蝠俠」的看照下，這座城市陷入了有史以來最危險的困境。然而，希望將出自於一個令人意想不到的地方，這群由逃犯組成的團體將成為高譚市的未來，他們的名字即是「高譚騎士」。
