Despre ce este The Winds of War?
„The Winds of War” (1983) este o miniserie epică care urmărește acțiunea ofițerului naval american Victor „Pug” Henry și a familiei sale, atrași de evenimentele globale care au dus la cel de-al Doilea Război Mondial, de la sfârșitul anilor 1930 până la atacul de la Pearl Harbor din 1941. Povestea împletește viețile personale ale familiei Henry și Jastrow cu evoluții istorice majore din Europa și Pacific, prezentând romantism, tragedie și eroism împotriva ascensiunii fascismului și a conflictului global iminent.

Still assigned to the U.S. Embassy in Moscow, Henry saves the day when friction rises between the Russian hosts and their visitors at a State dinner. In return, Stalin agrees to greater cooperation with the U.S., and agrees to let Henry visit the frontlines. Henry isn't so sure about the visit when he learns that Pamela and her father will be accompanying him. Henry finally receives orders to command a battleship and to report to Pearl Harbor.
