Waar gaat Yuri!!! on ICE over?
Nadat Yuri Katsuki vorig jaar een verpletterende nederlaag leed tijdens de Grand Prix-finales in het kunstschaatsen, keert hij terug naar zijn Japanse geboortestreek Kyushu. Daar trekt hij zich terug in zijn ouderlijk huis en speelt hij met de gedachte om zijn schaatsen voorgoed aan de wilgen te hangen. Maar onverwachts verschijnen twee van zijn voormalige tegenstanders bij hem op de stoep. Zijn sportidool Viktor Nikiforov, die vijf jaar op rij het wereldkampioenschap kunstschaatsen heeft gewonnen, en een andere deelnemer, Joeri Plisetski, die al op jonge leeftijd ervaren kunstschaatsers voorbijstreeft. Gemotiveerd door deze noodlottige ontmoeting besluit Yuri de uitdaging van de Grand Prix-finales opnieuw aan te gaan.
