Worum geht es in Mark of the Devil?
Hexenjäger Albino übt unter den Bewohnern eines namenlosen europäischen Staates im Spätmittelalter ein Terrorregime aus. Er wird durch Lord Cumberland, der ihn erwürgt, ersetzt. Cumberland ist noch schlimmer. Als sich sein Assistent, Grafensohn Christian, in das Bauernmädchen Vanessa verliebt, klagt Cumberland sie der Hexerei an. Christian holt sie aus dem Kerker. Vanessa wiegelt die Bauern auf. Christian landet im Kerker und fällt beim Sturm der Bauern auf das Schloss der Lynchjustiz zum Opfer, Cumberland kann entkommen.
